I like History, but there are no re-enactments where I live
Slightly off topic-but my son in law got very badly injured taking part in one of these re-enactments in the UK. It was touch and go whether he would lose his spleen or not.
Thankfully he pulled through without having to lose a vital organ. Naturally-when he met my daughter-she put paid to all of that!
Still-if you here of any -do let us know!
Maybe it's a bit hot in Florida-to get dressed up and then slug it out for a couple of hours-lol!
Hi Folks
Sorry to hear about your son-in-law orlandobabe I trust he
is fit and well now.Like all contact sports if that`s the word I can use there is always a risk of injury. However not all people involved in re-enactment "fight".It is a good way of teaching history with a hands on feel to children in particular.
Differant to class rooms and chalk boards.
I know there are re-enactments all over the USA as I`ve taken part in a few.Even FLORIDA!!![msnoo]
My last one at Gettysburg 2003 was 90degrees with about 98% humidity
a good way to lose weight.[xx(]fighting for Southern Rights.
