Ladies who lunch, shop and everything else! Part 7.
Day 9
A gentle stroll!
Sunday was here again and after breakfast we once again dropped Gez at mass in Celebration. We visited the cash machine at the bank so that Lesley could replace her dwindling coffers after yesterday's spending spree and then it was Starbucks for refreshment, would you believe I even managed to buy a Christmas present here as well? [msnwink]I bought my coffee loving brother a gift pack of assorted coffees and a gift card to accompany them. I have already bought him a small cafetiere so it will complete the gift nicely.
We took our coffees to the rockers by the lake and enjoyed the really warm sunshine before taking my wares back to the car and picking up Gez's flip flops. We wandered out of town to meet Gez outside church and then set off down East Lawn Drive for a stroll past the huge homes there, discussing which one we would buy with a lottery win! [msnsmile2]Some of the homes don't appear to have been occupied since we bought our villa more than eight years ago but several of them had Christmas decorations outside and Christmas trees visible through the windows.[xmas2]
At the end of the road we turned left continuing to admire the Christmas decorations outside the houses and promising ourselves that we would come back at night and see them fully lit. Left again brought us to the lakes at the back of the large houses and gave us the opportunity to admire the beautiful gardens and pool areas. There was plenty of wildlife about, the sand cranes were plentiful and we spotted an alligator sunning himself on the opposite bank before spotting another two in the water.[msneek]
We continued on past Lake Evalyn and emerged through the conservation area at the back of the Celebration Bohemian Hotel. It was very convenient to stop at Starbucks once again because we just had to reward ourselves after our exertions of the walk.[msnwink]
Back at the villa we rustled up some lunch, everyone choosing something slightly different from the selection of food we had in the fridge and then we moved out onto the deck, there was still plenty of sunshine to be had. We had a visit from our lovely American neighbour Danny who entertained us with jokes and tales, he is a great guy and a handyman to boot, so tomorrow he is coming over to replace our pool panels.
We stayed on the deck until the sun had completely disappeared and then got into the pool which by now was bordering in a Turkish bath![msnsmile2]
We drove down to Rolling Oaks for dinner at the Longhorn which was surprisingly quiet although we were quite early and it did get busier whilst we were eating. The steak was melt in the mouth delicious and we all enjoyed our meals.
Guess what? When we had finished we popped into Target for a bit of shopping..........well, we hadn't visited Target yet this trip so it was only fair![msnwink]
We only had teensie little bags on exiting, in fact I only bought a deodorant, a pack of Omeprazole and a game for my granddaughter!
Back at the villa we decided to put up the Christmas Tree......oh b****r the lights don't work as one of the wires have snapped, that means another trip to Walmart sometime!
Gez and Lesley are getting slightly panicky about the shopping because A. They haven't got everything they were detailed to buy for their offspring and
B volume of shopping doesn't match volume of luggage space!
I think we will have to sleep on that one![zzz]
