Dali Museum - St. Petersburg
This museum has now moved to its own fantastic building on the Pier Front at St. Petersburg. It was formerly opened in January 2011.
What a wonderful place. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. You pay to get in and have a wristband which means that you can enjoy both the inside and outside easily and come and go during the day as much as you please.
The building itself is beautifully designed and built from glass, stone, steel and concrete, and the Dali exhibits are wonderfully presented over several floors. We didn't join a docent tour because there were a number of people and we couldn't hear what she was saying. However, we did have the headphone recorders (at no extra charge - just leave 1 form of picture ID per machine borrowed) which had lots of interesting information on them and also meant that we could see the exhibits in whichever order we wanted.
There is lovely landscaping outside with a small labrynth and a "Wishes" tree, plus many areas where you can sit and enjoy the sunshine with your coffee etc..
Well worth a visit when you are in the area. Only $12 per adult and they also had family rates.
