Thought it was, we're just back having rented a villa from here that is described as south west facing and in fact when we parked the car outside the garage door it showed north facing. That now explains why the sun wasn't as we had expected on the deck area. If we'd known it wasn't south or sw facign we'd probably not have booked it, however it's too late now.

If there is something misleading on any advert on any of our sites, please email me at john@orlandovillas.com with details (including villa ref number) as the last thing we want is to have misleading information on our sites.
It doesn't always mean that you don't get the sun if the pool is not south facing. Ours is north facing, we chose that particularly as some of the family don't like too much sun. However, we don't have any two storey homes around us and we get the sun over our home most of the day. The pool is in the sun, but the lanai is in the shade, great in the very hottest part of the day.

We once rented through an agency and had no idea where we were ending up. We ended up in a villa with a north facing pool, in February....it meant there was no sun at all.
For our next trip we have looked at hundreds of villas and since we want sun in the afternoon (we leave the villa at around 7 AM) we want a west or south west facing pool.
We are however shocked that a lot of owners (through all kind of websites not this one) contact us saying they have a south facing pool. Once we find their villa on bing.maps however, most of them turn out to be east or north facing. Bummer!!
We've learnt that a lot of owners add south to their east or west facing pool since south always sounds sunnier. But to have an owner say that their pool faces south when it actually faces north, that is downright deceptful.
Should we be going in summer we wouldn't mind so much, but in winter it is quite important to get sun instead of shade.
I agree, for us a south facing pool is essential in the winter months. On one of our early trips we had a North facing pool in Feb and whilst the water was nice and warm it made sitting outside very uncomfortable
