Dine with Shamu

I as thinking about doing the Dine with Shamu show at Seaworld, does anyone know how much this is, and whether you need park admission to attend as well as the diner show itself?

the price is around $30 you also need admission tickets. Did it a while back and was not particular impressed, not something we would do again.

What did you not like about it?

was the food bad?

I am looking for a very honest opinion as to what it is really like.......

The food was not brilliant and the shame thing was a let, it just swam past a few times. This was some time back so may well be a lot better now.

I just spoke with a family who did this 3 weeks ago and they said they loved it. Sounds like more interaction with shamu and better food.

You might try the Makahiki Luau at SeaWorld.
Good entertainment tho' food pretty average - seems normal for any show !!!
You don't need SeaWorld tickets, but must book in advance....

We just did the dine with Shamu 2 weeks ago.

First thing, Yes you need admission to the park also.

You have to book way in advance!

There are now 2 rows of tables, which are assigned as you book, so the front row is booked first then the second row follows. They didn't tell us this at booking. We booked almost 2 months in advance and ended up on the second row.
This didn't matter too much to me, but we had a 7 year old child who wanted to know why he couldn't sit on the front row.

I complained about the seating, and thats when the allocation system was explained to me. Luckily they had a cancellation and so we got moved in the end to the first row, which was much better for the kiddy to see.

The food is nice, buffet style all you can eat, but they do hurry you out towards the end. Is it worth $32 ? food wise i would say no, but it is the fact of been poolside with Shamu that you are paying for.

The show is nothing special, the trainer gets the whale to swim over to your side a couple of times, but no real interaction as such.

Afterwards a couple of trainers fly round the tables signing the kids dinner/vip cards as a souveniers, and answer a quick question or 2.

On the whole i would say rip off, if you asked my nephew he would say its was amazing. The choice is yours.
