Taken from the causeway where the 528 crosses the Banana River.
It's an awesome event to see and highly recommended to anyone who is lucky enough to be in Orlando when a launch is scheduled. It was well worth all the effort of watching the internet for updates and the couple of drives to Cocoa and back on the days when the launch was scrubbed.

Thanks Steve for posting those. We had tickets but missed it due to the delay.

Hi Debbie & Neil,
That's a shame. Maybe at another launch sometime in the future. That 528 causeway is quite a good spot to watch the launches if you don't have, or choose not to take the risk with, the NASA tickets. I think there are some good spots along hwy-1 up towards Titusville too, but I haven't scouted them out so we just played it safe, found a good spot on the causeway and hung around for an hour or so with our fingers crossed.
We were all quite surprised at how easy it was to find a good spot. We were expecting it to be much busier with it being a weekend. Things did get busier the closer it got to the launch but it wasn't the complete bumper-to-bumper traffic that we were expecting.

Fantastic photos Snapper - do they broadcast the countdown on the radio or do you just have to keep clock watching? I have also heard that the sound is amazing - were you able to appreciate that from where you were?
