Virgin Clubhouse
Anyone paid the entry fee to get into the clubhouse?
Due to the delayed planes situation I was thinking of using the clubhouse at Heathrow (just incase we are delayed by a long time). I was looking at Virgin holidays and i can get them for £35 each. Gets free food and drinks etc.
Is it worth it?

As with most things, airports lounges vary widely. I'm not familiar with Virgin's Clubhouse at Heathrow so can't comment on that specifically. My experience has been that those where you pay for entry rather than those you can access by status or fare class are usually inferior and more crowded.
Given some of the current flight delays, I would think that £35 is money well spent.

Much of the time spent at LHR is in queues for the security. My son was in a queue for three and a half hours and was nowhere near the front when he was taken from the queue by the airline to the front. The problem was that this was happening time and time again, making the wait even longer for many people.
So your plane might be hours late but you might not get to spend much time in a clubhouse.

The price of £35 is for the Gatwick Lounge, unfortunately the Heathrow Lounge is £60 pp.
