floriday June/July
Hi all, I know this question has prob been asked 1000's of times, but here goes.
Me, my family and my brother and his two girls (first timers) are hopeing to go to Florida next year, an old relative has died and named us in her will[:O]:([|)]:). Anyway, I would have liked to have gone beginning of May. Unfortunately my son is in his last year at school next year and has exams!! My other son who is ten will be in year 6 and doing Sats!! So it looks like end of June early July. Is this a good time or not? I.E American schools hols etc for 4th July? Also what is weather like Too hot ,Too wet, huricanes[:O]? Hope you all can help.

We were there one year end of June beginning of July and I must say that as soon as 4th july passed the parks were much much busier. There was a marked difference and the queues after the 4th were horrendous.
That was in 2000 though - things may have changed....

Hi Vicky,
I'm sure you should be ok at that time of year. We have gone the last 2 summer's in the middle of July for exactly the same reasons as you, its very difficult these days to take them out of school and not feel really guilty about it. In July I think the weather can be a little unpredictable, in 2004 we had loads of rain, and it wasn't just the afternoon downpours, but last year we got beautiful blue skies for all of the holiday, so you never can tell. To be honest the rain doesn't spoil the holiday anyway, in the parks everyone just buys the Mickey Macs and you all look a bit silly together! I'd take a brolly if there isn't one provided in your villa just in case.
The queues in the middle of July can be quite long although I think they should be quieter at the end of June. The best idea is to look at the map of the park and plan around the rides you definitely don't want to miss. This is also a good idea with regard to what you would like to eat for lunch, there are some lovely places in all of the parks but sometimes you find that you are on the wrong side of the park from were you fancied to have your lunch if your not careful.
I'm sure you & your family will have a fantastic time! :)

As your choice is limited by your childrens' exams, I would think that this is probably the best time to go.
If you wait until July/August, the parks will be busier and the weather even hotter than it is in June.
I was out in early June 2003 and the weather was lovely!

Sounds good Vicky! You will be outside the main peak season (school holidays) so the Parks shouldn't be too packed. The weather will be great too!
Have a fantastic time!

It is a great time to go, but yes it will be busy around 4th July as you would expect.
However, the parks will put on some fantastic firework displays so it will be well worth it.

Hi, me again, thanks for the replies, I am in the middle of scanning through my replies for a villa.
On my request form I said i wanted a villa with a games room to keep the four kids happy, we have never stayed in a villa with a games room before.
Anyway, would we be better having the garage instead of a games room to park the cars in of a night? especially because of the heat in the day? Just wandered what everyones thoughts were.[msneek][?]

Hi Vicky,
Personal choice, but we have a games room, and have no problems with the heat in the car - the air conditioning kicks in really quickly.
Just as a thought. We always find middle August is as good time to go if you are tied to school holidays - many American children to back to school then so the queues are not long at all.

Hi Vicky. For us it is to have the garage!
During the hot months we always park our car inthe garage otherwise it is unbearably hot to get into it. Yes - the aircon does work in overload when you start the engine - but not quick enough for me I'm afraid!
I guess we do have the best of both worlds as our community has a clubhouse with a games room which is a few yards from our home.
Maybe that would be an idea for you - there are lots of villas on communites that have clubhouse facilites.
.
Whichever you choose - have a great time!
