Hi everyone,
Has anyone here drove from Orlando down to Miami before? If so how long did it take you? I'm heading down to Miami while on holiday and we're just trying to work out approximately how long it would take us.

It took us about five hours, including a stop. So, if you reckon between 4 and 6 hours, depending on how fast you drive and how often you stop and for how long, you'd be about right.
we thought about this once, is it good fun?
would love to go to miami, people watching, site seeing in general, maybe one day? would like to see other peoples views on it
They do tend to say about 4-5 hours as its just over 200 miles.
If you go on the Turnpike then it's 4 hours, just don't be tempted to go to much over the speed limit as the number of speed traps seemed quite high last time we did the trip.

Using the Florida turn pike and allowing a stop for obvious reasons it took us about 3.5 - 4 hours last August 2005. Although we didn't go into Miami as our destination was the Florida Keys.
hiya,
we used the turnpike & took us about 4 hours.
i love miami!!!!!!!!! you won't be disappointed. we stayed in the park central at south beach.

We did Miami via US 27 - around Lake Ockeechobee, followed by a trip to the Keys, and back via the Turnpike.
Interesting, but slow drive down US27 took 6 hours, with a stop off for a local cuban lunch.
Miami to Orlando about 5 hours, with a break for lunch at West Palm Beach.
Well worth a trip - both Miami and the keys
4 hours for us via the turnpike....no stops!
Took me 4 hours with one 20 minute stop.
