Best Days for Park Visits

Can anybody recommend what day of the week is the best to visit theme parks eg MK, Epcot, Universal etc.

I have disabilities but I don't want to hire a wheelchair (cos I'm stubborn) so I wondered what day would have fewer queues at various theme parks.

week days are best mon-fri, for most of the parks, MK though is pretty busy which ever day. Try to avoid weekends go shopping instead. The other thing to remember is the parks are BIG so if you do have disabilities and struggle with a lot of walking hire a wheel chair.
Not sure whether your from the UK or not but in America they treat people in wheel chairs far better, everywhere is wheel chair friendy and people with disbilities and their families get to the front of the queues on most rides.
Also if you have a UK blue badge take it with you, get the best parking.

Totally agree with what Mark has said above, they treat people who have a disability far better and if they bump into you and realise that you are having problems with walking etc, they can't apologise enough.

We went to Florida with our friends, one of whom has heart problems amongst other things, and is a stubborn old devil (though we love him to bits). When we went to Seaworld we managed to persuade him to hire one of their brilliant electric scooters.

He was VERY reluctant and grumbled all the way to Seaworld, and up to the time he sat in it. But once he saw how much freedom it gave him he was like a dog with 2 tails. He was off in front of us, zooming about in it like a professional racing driver - well slight exaggeration, they don't go fast! We loaded him up with all our bags etc. so he enjoyed being useful, and my son would have been only too pleased to have changed places with him in order to try it out.

We were treated like royalty wherever we went, there was a special area set aside for wheelchair users to watch Shamu, and it gave us all a much better time than we would have had if he had insisted on trying to walk. We would have been worried, we would not have been able to see much, and he would have been exhausted in a very short time.

So think of your family, too. Its all very well being stubborn and independent, but it will take the pressure off them, and give you all a great time. If you can, take advantage of one of these scooters. They will give you and the family such freedom. And you will soon forget that you need help to get about as you will be free to go wherever you want - much better than a wheelchair as YOU are in control.

My illness means that I can only walk short distances and stand for a limited amount of time. The first year I was ill we went to the parks & I found the distances involved & the time standing really wore me down. I take my own wheel chair now & cant recommend either that or hiring one at the parks strongly enough! The staff are really helpful and I dont feel like Im holding the rest of the family back. On some rides the wheelchair user and a couple of people automatically get fast passes making me EXTREMELY popular to push!!!![msnwink]

I have a heart condition that makes my blood pressure drop without warning, and the blood doesn't reach my brain properly so I pass out quite frequently.

I'm quite good at taking my medication and following procedures to deal with my condition but I'm very stubborn when it comes to the wheelchair cause I'm only in my 30's, I had a cancerous tumour in my leg, which being the belligerent so and so I am, makes me all the more determined to walk on my leg.

Also, my son wears special orthotic (balance aids) footwear, has hyperflexi ligaments, that make his hips, knees and ankles give way, and has double vision, it's very tiring and a big effort for him to retain his balance, so if he can do it, I'm determined not to let him down.

It is a bit of a worry though, cause I don't want to spoil any of the days[msnscared]

Just a thought.......... why not hire one wheelchair when you are in the parks? And share it between you?! Both of you are going to have hard times walking round the parks and both of you are going to need a rest from time to time. Im only in my early (ish!!) forties and so I know I was very reticent to use a wheelchair at first but with the help of my sister (who has an extremely dry and wicked sense of humour!) we now make the best of every day out & 'road test' all types of places for accesiblity! No where is out of bounds for us (included mountain walks on the Isle of Wight!) & I have even pursuaded my older mum to go to places she would never have attempted before because I have promised to get out & let her have a go in my chair from time to time for a rest!
You mustn't see help as being a compromise - its simply a way that you can all get the best out of Florida. I urge you to contact guest services at the parks both for you and your son. They will give you really good advice & it will help to make your trip 'magical'!! Promise!![msnsmile2][msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

Does anybody have a particular favourite out of all the parks?
What you would call unmissable?

We want to cram in as much as we can without overtiring ourselves.
I thought that we might do the parks during weekdays and shopping and relaxation on the weekends, or are you going to tell me that we should plan a week for the shopping?
