There is no direct serice from Manchester to Orlando with United.
BMI fly from Manchester using a United flight code however you have to connect in Washington or Chicago.
BMI have seat back TV's with 10 or more movie channels, normal tv channels, gameboy games and 32 pitch in normal economy. The internal leg in the US is with TED who dont have seat back TV's but do have TV that appear from the ceiling after you take off.
We have two young children and they really looked after them during the flight with special kids meals back packs etc.
We flew with United last year (not from Manchester tho so can't help with that:D) but the internal part of the flight was using TED and have to say the flight from Chicago was very comfortable with lots of leg room. No headrest Tv's tho. We would fly with them again.
We always tend to use them, they are part of the 'Star Aliance' group, but they do not operate a non-stop service to Orlando,we tend to change at Washington or Chicago.
On the second leg of the journey, you can tune into the air traffic control chanel on your headset radio and listen to the captain.

US Airways fly from Manchester but not on a direct, you would have to connect via another city in the US.
The Philidelphia flight leaves most days around 12.30pm ish
We have used this flight on a couple of occasions and found both BMI and TED very good overall. Bmi were especially impressive would compare them favourably to Virgin or BA,
Hi
We have used United on a number of occasions and will continue to do so.
Whilst they do have an agreement with BMI they do fly out of Manchester also(if my memeory serves me correctly).
Usually change at either Chicago or Washington - we've never had any problems with them or the Immigration, if your 2nd flight time is looming just mention this to one of the officers on the floor and they (usually) move you forward quickly.
Seat back TV's on 1st flight although sometimes older planes, no seatbacks on internal flight but sometimes they have an onboard system - we saw The Incredibles on our last trip from Washington - Tampa in April - free headsets. We have found the internal flights to be quite roomy compared to the transatlantic planes.

We flew on untied for the 1st time last week and was very impressed, it was from london though and you have to connect in washington or chicargo and use Ted for the orlando flight. If your connection time is short and you let one of the crew know they will put an annoucment over the planes PA system telling people to stay in there seats and let you off 1st, United tend to use boeing 767 and 777 for the atlantic trip and both planes had TV's in the headrest with 6 movie channels, about 3 or 4 tv type channels and about 12 radio channels. They provide free headsets, free drinks but alcohol is $5!
We will definatly fly with them again.
We have flown to and from Washinghton with United in the last few weeks. We usually fly Premium with Virgin to Orlando and frankly were dreading these flights to Washington.
They were really quite good - a few irritating things like a 90 minute delay to change a windscreen wiper, having to pay $5 for alcohol and only being served with one small drink at a time so you have to either wait for them to come round or get up and fetch one yourself.
Plane was full going out but only half empty coming back which was great as we could stretch out.
Would fly United again.
United themselves DO NOT fly from Manchester at the moment they code share and BMI operate to Chicago and Washington[msnwink]
