air boats
i was watching sky TV yesterday, and there was something on about a lake, about 40 mins drive outside Orlando, where you can go on an airboat down the canals to watch the aligators. They said it was known as the 'start of the everglades' but i missed what it was called or where exactly it was. anyone know where it is and is it worth a trip?

Hello,
you can do this in kissimmee. We sell tickets for Boggy Creak Airboats, you will see lots of gators and wildlife. You get a choice of two lakes, I like the south lake the best.

Boggy Creek Airboats are my Mum's favourite and she particularly likes them when they go fast. She's 83 and a secret thrill seeker... :)
Actually, they are great - the guides are very knowledgeable about the wildlife (and know exactly where to find it) so hopefully you'll see plenty at close quarters. Last time we went we were within about 10 feet of a mother gator and her babies near their nest and some great photo opportunities! :)
A lot of the guides also have a mean sense of humour and will try and get at least one passenger with some spray! ;)

And if you want to do it differently, Boggy Creek offer a 1-hour NIGHT TOUR which needs booking in advance. We did this once and it was a fantastic experience.
