We own a villa in Davenport which is rented out until November and are looking for somewhere to stay until this is available. Anyone know of somewhere reasonable to stay, preferably at non tourist prices. Could be looking at a possible 3 month let.

Hi Keith-Jacqui

Welcome to the forum!

As Jolliffe has already said, there are two sections on moving to Florida and also Visa questions where you'll find some answers to your queries.

If you'd like to make an enquiry about the villas available here, then you need to put in an enquiry for all three sites (the linkes are in the top section of every forum page) as the home owners are not allowed to respond to enquiry requests via the forum and we want you to get replies from verified homes advertised on the sites only.

It's highly unlikely, if you haven't found an E2 visa business yet, that you'll be over in Florida before November anyway as the paperwork, etc takes quite a while to sort out.

Good luck with your plans.

Thanks, we were thinking of going over on a b2 visa shortly to look again at some businesses. We were told by an immigration consultant over there that we could change this to an e2 via Texas. Then on return to England, go to the embassy and have it stamped in our passports.

There is a thread on here where some people were turned down for a B visa to go and look for a business and someone else on the same thread got the B visa but their kids didnt!!! Did you read that?

Reading all the visa threads and looking at the stories told, it seems that depending on weather the sun is shining and which way the wind is blowing on a specific day, deems if you get a visa or not, they could certainly do with a little more consistency at US immigration.

That is SO true, Al. It depends on who you go in front of, it really does. I got five years, my friend got two years. No rhyme ot reason.
