A friend and I are looking to relocate to Orlando. We are 24 / 25 and are wondering what options are available to us since we do not have any ideas where to look or go for guidance.

We are looking for full-time employment within Orlando, or to start our own business within the IT sector.

It would be nice to hear some ideas, suggestions, or web sites from British people who have made the move [msntongue]

Thanks in advance [msncool]

Are you graduates as you wont have the required number of years experience to be spacialist workers at your age?? If you are, then apply to all the US IT recruitmnent sites on the web. And send CVS to the obvious US employers in the IT field even Microsoft ( You never know!!) . You would be looking at HiB visa and it isnt easy to get labour certification in the computer industry as they have a lot of unemployed IT people here thanks to a lot of IT work now being subcontracted to India.
Starting a business?? You would start on in the UK, set it up with a manager and employees and then trsnafer yourself out on L1 to start a US branch. One of you could even stay behind to run it for a while. Or you could buy a E2 business here. To be frank though, most of the businesses for sale here are computer sales and service rather than programming, Starting a business on E2 within the computer sector?? Hard. You would need a very good business plan with it laid out exactly where you will find contracts. You would also need US employees. Anything that smacks of computer contracting wouldnt work.

Hi,

My wife and I are looking to buy a business on E2 in the next 12-18 months, I have read through the posts on visas, and would appreciate any further advice on living costs and insurance.

Chrizzy100, could you please send me the links fom the post above, it would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks
Darren

Hi Darren,

The only thing about the E2 is that it will never lead to a Green Card or permanent resident status, so just be wary of this if that is a long term goal.

Also speak to a good immigration lawyer.

Best of luck,

MTP

Hi Darren,

Aren't you a 'Super Moderator' on another website that sells villas and businesses???

Surely you already have this info to hand and don't need our help and advice.

Hello Hilary,

Yes I am a 'supermod' from another site, the site does sell villas, but not businesses.
