Never have I been so moved by an event in another country. My wife and I sat in shocked disbelief as we watch the events happen on TV. We just could not accept what was happening. After the grief came the fear and anger. 9/11 was certainly a terrible day in american history.
We visited our villa just a month later, fearfull of something happening but determined not to give in to them. To cancel our vist would have been another victory for them. We were amazed at the way americans were rallying and supporting each other. The whole country seemed to be drawing together with a new vigor and sense of purpose. Our admiration for the american people grew even stronger, as did our determination to do what we could to support them.
