Did anyone see the programmes on Channel 4 and ITV last night? They were extremely moving and captured those awful events.

I have had an e-mail from an american asking us all to wear a badge or ribbon with red, white and blue on the 11 Sep, to say a prayer and light a candle in memory.

Fiona - I sat and watched the TV last night - not sure which channel - with tears rolling down my face, it was just so sad - I think the idea of the ribbon etc is a lovely one, and will definitely wear one

I too watched that programme last night and found it very hard hitting. Those families who were talking were so brave and their stories were so touching.

Where has a year gone?

It really doesn't seem a whole year ago somehow. It is very sad but particularly so to see the 'real' people involved - hits you that bit harder.

We watched it too and still find it hard to believe what we saw really happened. I'm still as stunned about the whole thing as when I heard it on the breaking news a year ago .

I missed the program last night as we had visitors, but I will be watching the BBC program next week about the firefighters.

I have a stars and stripes pin which I will be wearing next week.

John, perhaps you could put a separate " in remembrance" section on the forum on Sept 11th itself so we can all post something. One of the other forums has done this alresdy.and when I saw it I thought it was a good idea. Tou get quite a few non villa owners on here also and I am not sure they would look for this under general chat where this thread is now.

Great idea Julie.

I've created a new category right at the top of the forums for this.

Can you all review my wording of the category description as I don't always convey my thoughts as I intend in delicate issues like this (comes from being a 'blunt northerner' .

Also, feel free to start the postings so as guests might feel happy to post too!

What a way for my dad to remember his 70th birthday.

Watched some of the tv programme but couldn't face the rets, too upsetting by far. We were over in the USA on that day and it was truly awful. It made me mad to hear some tourists complianing that they weren't going to get home on time. I did let rip at one and told her to be thankful she was going home.
