Looking to set up a fun day for my sister at the end of October. What do you buy the girl who has everything! Any ideas for a special outing with a big bang at the end?

Two distinct possibilities. One is a surprise day at DISCOVERY COVE including the Dolphin Swim; the other is avisit to Kennedy Space center with enrolment in the ATX (Astronaut Training Experience). We were in orlando during our Wedding Anniversary and I presented my wife with a ticket to DC the following week - on the same day that she bought me a ticket to the ATX.

Depending on your sister's tastes, one or the other will be a great gift.

Hi Timmy

As Nostromo has already mentioned Discovery Cove has got to be high on the list.

Otherwise what about a Hot Air Balloon ride or a Helecopter Trip across Disney / Orlando.

Failing that a "Behind the Scenes Tour", these are offered by both Disney and Universal and you are treated like a VIP.

There loads of links on this site which will give you other ideas.

Best of luck.

Hi Timmy,
Would 2nd the idea for the Helicopter trip over Disney! My brother-in-law did it a few years ago, and it was the highlight of his trip! I would be blown away by that as a gift! Something a bit different!

If you decided to go into any of the Disney parks and there is a Birthday in your party just tell them at Guest relations on the way in, you then get a badge which will get you a little special attention as you go around the park.
At 30 somthing it depends how much you get into the disney spirt, I did it and ended up on the stage in the beauty and the beast show, playing the role of the beast.

It is a good thing to remember for the kids aswell, the character give that little bit more which is great

Thanks for that sugestions Amy. It is my son's birthday while we are there and it would be nice to have that kind of attention.

For the finale consider dinner at Fulton's Crab House (at Downtown Disney) and follow that with a night at Cirque du Soleil's show, La Nouba.

I've got it! How about a surprise party, Planet Hollywood, Downtown Disney, and everyone on the forum will meet you there :D[?]
All the ideas offered seem great, few beers and a packet of crisps was all I had on my 30th!!![msncry]
Let us know what you go for[:p]

Still not quite sure what to do - had thought of the Champagne cruise to watch the fireworks at Epcot followed by a visit to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritavilla. But not sure what time the cruise would end - any ideas?

We did the Illuminations cruise round Epcot, from memory we boarded the boat at 8.15 or 8.30 and it lasted about 45 minutes to an hour. It was great, we took champagne on board (and paper cups! - I forgot the glasses[:I])as they will only supply sodas. You need to book this 90 days in advance as soon as the booking line opens 7am in FL 12 noon in the UK it took me about a week of phoning to be one of the favoured 4.

Not sure if they do flights over Disney. They did suspend them following Sept 11th-but not sure if they have been re-instated or not!
