What visa do I need if I am buying a villa with a view to renting it out? Have no plans to move out or run another business.

Thanks

You don't need any visa to buy a villa or rent it out as you won't be allowed to stay any longer than six months on a B2 visitors' visa or 90 days on a visa waiver. Most Florida home owners use the visa waiver scheme.

If you do want to live there and purchase a business, then you need to be looking at the info for an E2 visa (there's lots of info in this section and the Moving to Florida section of the forum) unless you have a current business in the UK (that you've had for at least a year) which you can leave running and for which you may be able to apply for an L1 intracompany transfer to set up a 'new branch' in the USA.

No Visa ,unless you want to spend more than 90days ,then you will need a B1 B2 .that will let you stay here ,for up to 6 months

If you intend coming and going very frequently, say spending a couple of weeks here several times a year it is a good idea to get a B2 visa. It stops them asking questions when you arrive about why you are coming and going so often. Some members on here have done this for that reason. If you only intend to come out once or twice a year with decent gaps in between, then the visa waiver will do.
