does anybody out there in cyberland know the name of the travel info section that is on bbc news 24
its on digital during day or combined with bbc1 during the night or at weekends
its for another topic i'm discussing
any help would be much appreciated
I think you are referring to "Gate 24"
It is a 10 - 15 minute section that goes out early on a Saturday / Sunday morning, at least that when I have seen it.
No doubt it is repeated at other times in the day.
Hope I am right and this helps.

thanks dmc
thats the name i remember it as
done a search on bbc site nothing relevant found
i've a feeling the name as changed though
Could it be "Fast Track"? Saturday at 0645 & 1130, Sunday at 0230, 0730 & 2130
I've never seen it myself but this is what the BBC News 24 webpage says about it....
"FAST TRACK
The latest travel news, from the industry itself to the top deals and destinations, with the most current information on flights and holidays, and advice for people travelling on business or for leisure."
One of the presenters is Akhtar Khan.
Found a webpage that might be helpful which gives more info on showing times.

Hope it's what you're looking for.

thanks angua
i looked for fast track yesterday from the bbc front page and it was coming up with sporty stuff!!
so tried your link which by the way appeared on a later thread, i see you edited it, which confused me a bit-wondering were it had come from
accordingly said it was a programme on saturday, repeated sunday at 0730 - which must have been the one i saw and shown again today at 1330hrs
so i tuned in at 1330 and there was this young man on talking about kicking a spherical ball around this green field with white lines on.
there was a sign on the desk saying euro 2004 i dont know volleyball or something????????
but they meant 1330 gmt so i tuned in again at 1430 bst (1330 gmt)
and saw some article on speed cameras
so i have to say thanks for another piece in my puzzle but i'm not where i want to be yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know what you mean! I too had great difficulty finding anything more about the show other than it's basic premise or, alternatively, other programmes on the BBC called "Fast Track" which related to either African football or Asian current affairs. I think the BBC needs some more imaginative Producers/Editors.
However, the Computer Nerd in me (;)) wouldn't let it lie so after some further searching, I edited my post with a webpage that I eked out from some forgotten and dusty corner of the Beeb.
I too was watching at 1:30 for the fabled programme to appear as I was intrigued but I think everything has been put aside so that we can watch fashion models parade behind a desk in Portugal or just stare at the desk while we wait for the models to appear. Don't these people know it's holiday season!!! :D
Short of camping outside of Wood Lane and petitioning Terry Wogan, I don't know what else to recommend! Here's hoping that they repeat the show at one of the scheduled times or mention the article again on Saturday's programme. Good Luck!
