Does anyone know how strict British Airways are on checked baggage from Orlando to Gatwick? We were thinking about buying a new buggy for an impending arrival and as we won't have any kids with us it will be in the box. It'll be 48lb and am not sure whether to bother as it will eat into our baggage allowance a lot. Thanks

You are allowed 2 pieces of about 66lbs each (30 kgs). It would count as one of your pieces if you decided to take it.

We were told that car seats and buggy's were not counted in with the normal baggauge weight.

It might be worth giving BA a call to check this one out.

That's if its being used...not boxed.

48lbs in weight does seem very heavy for a buggy !!

If you take it out of the box, would it be counted as a free allowance? It might be worthwhile checking this out with BA.

The 48lb is the car seat included with the buggy, I will ring BA to confirm as we won't be travelling with kids (It's for one on the way!!) they may see no need to keep it in the hold, and insist on it being checked. Thanks.
