Been away from the computer for 3 months after an operation on my hand so am just catching up and have missed the boards.

My son who is a police officer incurred 3 points for speeding - it has just come to light at the time of the offence he was not the officer driving so the points are in the process of being removed from his licence but it might take some time. I have been told that if his licence is not clear by the time we go to Florida in October that we will not be able to hire a car. Can anyone tell me if this is correct or not? Will make things difficult trying to use public transport if we don't have our own car.[8D]

I understand from another thread on this subject that points are no an issue. As long as his licence has not been suspended he will be OK.
I will try and locate the other thread for you.

I had 3 points on my licence up until last year and it was never a problem .I still use the same licence now (not yet renewed it) without any hitches.

I had 6 points on mine when we went to Orlando and it was still not a problem. But I was extra careful not to get any more!

Thanks all of you for that - has put my mind at rest. Now just need to decide who to hire from as we are only going for 12 days. Last time I think it was airline network who quoted us for 12 days whereas others only quoted for the two weeks
