I know this subject has been covered many times but how do you change your avatars.The picture I want (100 x 100)is on my hard drive.Taking into account I am not very computer wise you will have to explain in leymans terms

You will need some sort of graphic package that has a 'resize' function. Paintshop pro and loads of others offer this..
It's then just a simple matter of opening your graphic file up and resizing it to 100x100 or whatever ratio provides either 100pixels max width or its height. (Be careful to 'lock aspect ratio' which prevents the image from squeezing or stretching).
