does anyone know if or when the lilo and stitch ride is opening, im gutted that we never managed to go on the extra terestrial experience before they closed it to build the new ride, but if the stitch ride is better then its something new to look forward too.

From the Disney World website :

"The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter closed on Sunday, October 12, 2003 for re-development. Replacing the attraction will be Stitch's Great Escape which is expected to open in Fall 2004. We recommend Mickey's PhilharMagic during this time."

Whatever the new ride is like it just has to be better than the old one (in my opinion;)):D

I liked the old one, but once you'd been on it and knew what was happening, it lost a lot impact.

Counting the number of children in tears at the end of it became the most interesting part, which is probably why they've decided to change it into a more child freindly attraction.

I loved Alien Encounter - but as you said, after the first time it kind of loses the appeal because you know what's going to happen! The first time though was excellent, grown men screaming, etc! I guess it was just too scary for the kids - looks like Lilo & Stich is based on the same thing but obviously not scary - my boy will like it - going in 52 days!

Well, I can't wait for Lilo & Stitch:)Spent too many years asking cast memebers, " Now tell me again exactly what happens at Alien Encounter?" Then walked away:(It's almost a relief not to have to worry about another year I wimped out[:o)]
