View Full Version : Cinemas
Hi, arriving in kissimmee on tuesday and was wondering as there are a few films out in the US that we would like to see if anyone could tell me the nearest cinemas to us. We're staying at the masters inn at main gate on entry point boulevard. Thanks!
I think there is a big cinema at Downtown Disney:)
Yes, Downtown Disney is the best place
If you want to combine the cinema with a day out or a meal the Universal Cineplex in Citywalk will have all of the latest movies.
Its about 15 minutes drive from your hotel.
We have used the cinemas at both DTD and Universal and they are both good - like Fozzie says you can combine the visit with a meal which is what we normally do!

There is a small 50's style cinema in Celebration and plenty of great eating places.

I really like it there, its so so quiet in August and there a great place to eat on the corner overlooking the lake that serves great omlettes - can't remember the name of it though??[:I][:I]

Its much closer and easier to get to from Masters Inn than going to DTD or over to Universal .I know it won't offer the same choice but a short hop along Griffin Road will get you to Celebration in no time at all and with no hassle with traffic.
We were very disappointed at the cinema complex at Downtown Disney when we went (haven't been back to that one for 4 years so hopefully has improved since then!) but we always go to universal citywalk - free parking after 6pm and you get a nice buzz. The one at celebration looks very attractive and there are some good restaurants there too. Cafe d'Antonios does an excellent pizza or pasta.
the dt disney is quite good never too many people in it even at night.. apart from fri nights and the new releases..
the celebration one is nice but small normally on 2 films on at any one time...
also a nice one at festival bay on the Idrive near beltz...

We have been to the one at Downtown Disney a couple of times and found it very comfortable etc. They are very trusting as well, because once you have paid you do not have to show your ticket at each individual theatre so if you are unscrupulous you could see more than one movie.
Never been to the one at Universal, but it looks like the one at Disney eg just like nay other multiplex.
its the same at all the complexs once you buy your tic thats it...
There's also an imax screen at the pointe on international drive, and a new 24 screen setup at festival bay next to belz at the top end of international drive.
The seats in the one at Pointe Orlando have high backs and are very comfortable - so much so that I fell asleep!! You can see clearly wherever you are in the theatres.

There is also a small theater in Kissimmee behind the Home Depot--only about 6 screens, but out of the way, so not very crowded.
Im sure there is a small one on the OBT next to Publix as well
