Hi,
We are coming to Hampton Lakes this year as we don't know which villa we will be in until arrival, if the pool is not south facing does this mean we will have very limited sunshine through the day. or are all the villas positioned to gain maximum sunshine.

Welcome to the forum!

No, it's not possible to get all the villas facing the same way or all the roads would be one sided. Having a non-south facing pool area doesn't necessarily mean you won't get sun - it depends on how near the pool is in relation to the house and how high the house is built (or those around it) and also the exact way it's facing.

I guess if you've booked through a tour operator and don't know where you'll be staying exactly until you arrive then the best you can do is ask your tour operator for a south facing pool area if this is what you want.

If you go to Florida again, then come to this site and you can choose the exact home you'll stay in and can ask the owners questions about the way the pool faces, if this is important to you.

Welcome to the forum Ang. Try not to worry about this too much, we are North East facing and we still get the sun all day as we have a large pool deck, our pool is quite far out from our home and our home is mainly single storey :)

Hi Ang welcome to the forum, I can confirm what Ruth says we have stayed many times in a NE facing villa and had no problems with sunbathing. We didn't even think about which way it was facing until we suggested to the owner ( a friend of a friend) that he could do with a parasol to provide some shade over the patio table for eating out at lunch time as it got very hot. He said he never needed it because he always went in the Autumn/winter when there was shade by the table so he hadn't realised that there was a "problem" in the Summer. First time I'd ever heard of Sunshine called a problem [8D]

Our pool isn't South facing and like Blott says it isn't a problem as the house is only one storey and the deck big enough to allow plenty of sunshine.[msnsmile]

I agree with the others - our home is on Hampton Lakes, and the pool is not South facing, we have an extended pool deck with the pool set away from the house and there's plenty of sun.
I'm sure you'll love it on Hampton Lakes - whichever direction your pool is facing.

And if you do find on Hampton that the pool is in shade at any time and you want to swim in the sun , the community pool is south facing (and much larger so if you feel a bit more energetic and want to swim lengths.
We go over to our home on Hampton on Tuesday and can't wait.:)
