Is it possible to do Universal and Islands of Adventure in the one day on a day pass????

Have been before and only want to do a few things in each park - not enough for a day each.

Do they allow you to park hop?

Unfortunately, you can't hop with the single day tickets (this applies to all the parks, not just Universal) so you'd need to purchase at the least the two day two park tickets if you wanted to visit both.

We have just been and purchased a 1 day ticket for the 2 parks, I think they cost about $80 as opposed to the 1 park ticket which cost about $60. Make sure that if you want to go on Shrek you go to Studios as soon as they open and go on ride first. We arrived a little late due to having crashed the car, got there at about 9.00am queue was already 45mins so decided to try later, bad move, queue never got less than 90mins.

You could always get an Express Plus pass or if you are doing the two parks then a Combo Express Plus pass - you get to skip all the queues and can easily do both parks in one day with time to spare.

See http://www.park-tickets.com/UniversalExpress.aspx for more details.

This may be a silly question but does the Express Plus Pass include admission or do you purchase it as well as a regular pass?

The Express Plus passes are about $20-$25 each (about $28 for the combo ones that let you do both parks in the same day). They are in addition to the park entrance but are well worth the money, especially if you have children who are not good standing in lines (queues) for any length of time.

We did Universal on New Years Day in a few house even though the park was very busy [msnsmile2].

Thanks John, this sounds ideal for us when we eventually get round to doing Universal:)

John, where did you purchase the combo express pass plus, last year we bought one to use in IOA at a small podium just inside the main gate and it was well worth the $25 however we may park hop this year and the combo would be ideal

At the podium just inside the gates of IOA - they are available from any ticket booth as far as I know.
