I would imagine the 7 seater is just perfect for what you need. They are not much more in price than a car and they give you so much more room - we always get one ourselves for our 2 adults, 2 children party.
Def. a 7 seater, you can take out or flatten the back seats leaving loads of room for the wheelchair & luggage etc. and the heightened driving position is an added bonus :)
If you have a disabled member in your group remember to take their UK blue disabled parking badge, you can use it in Florida just the same as at home, you also get the benefit of closer parking at theme parks as well :D
One thing though, you MUST display the badge when using disabled parking spaces as the penalties for not doing so in the USA are considerably higher and more strictly enforced than here in the UK.
Have a great time, we're coming home the day after you get there :(

Here's a question I would like some advice on re. wheelchairs and minivans.
My dad is disabled but can walk with assistance but how would you get someone like that into a minivan as its a bit of a step up to get into one. Is it a case of getting a small ramp to attach to the van and, if so, do rental companies hire these or would you have to supply your own? Or do certain vehicles come with this accessory?
Any thoughts appreciated.
Regards
Ann-Marie:)
I drive a 7 seater at home in the UK which is the easiest vehicle in the world to get into as the seats are at 'bottom' height. I think you'll find it will be easy for your Dad to put his bottom on the seat from a standing position and either he or someone else can swing his legs around up into the vehicle.
As regards luggage space, we were 4 adults with one in a wheelchair and a 7 seater was ideal for plenty of room to store the wheelchair and the luggage. As above, they're also a lot easier to get into than ordinary cars.

I can only echo the thoughts of others that a 7 seater would be ideal, last time i was out i treated myself to a mustang convertiable and it was great but no room at all there was 2 adults and a child and we had to put cases in the front and back of the car - so i would say a 7 seater would be ideal for your family as we noramlly hire this type of car and there is only 2 adults and a child plus they are great to drive[msnwink]
Hope you have a holiday and as they saying goes wish i was there [msncry] but roll on September [msnsmile2]

I would agree with the others. A 7-seater is not too big for your needs, but about right. Its basic luggage space with all seats open is rather limited. But with only 4 of you, the rear seats could be folded to make room for the luggage and wheelchair. Have a nice time. :)

Thanks Blott.
Its been a few years since I hired a 7 seater and I thought it may have been too high for my dad to get into.
Hopefully, we'll get him away soon and a bigger car will make it so much easier.

I hope you do Ann-Marie and, like my father, I'm sure he'll think it's the trip of a lifetime.
