This tip is just for the European visitors. American's main course is called an ENTREE - not to be confused as a starter.
In most restaurants you will be asked what salad dressing you would like with your salad, ie waldorf, honey&mustard, blue cheese etc - the salad usually comes before the main course (entree!) but you can ask for it to be served with your main course.
