According to the WDW calendar, MGM's 'Backlot Tour' should reopen today after a long period of refurbishment. Does anyone have any update on this?

Don't know about the reopening but we really enjoyed this tour the first year we visited Florida. It was quite an eye opener to see how they do things in the movies.[msnsmile]

Went on Backlot tour last week, same effects at beginning and catastrophe canyon (however, there was no shaking of the bus as before, when you think the bridge is going to collapse). A few vehicles in the boneyard as usual and lots of building work going on for new stunt show.

Would you say that the backlot tour is suitable for a 5 year old?
We did the backlot tour 3 days ago, and the shakin is back. Suitable for a 5 year old, i would say yes, but keep them to the right side of the vehicle, and if you have a choice to the rear of the 'train'. There is a bang and flames towards the front. There was a group of small children in front of us and they loved it. Lot's of pushin and shoving when they thought the water was gonna get 'em. It is a bit shorter than previous, as where they had the fake houses (golden girls old house) is now being developed into an new ride, due to open 2006. It's something to do with stunt car driving.
