I have been looking at renting an 8 bed villa next may from a website called [website link edited] This is like a private sale to a man called Mike Mannings. I have worries about giving him money and getting there and no such villa exsists. Is there a way we can check that what we buy is genuine? Is this a common way of renting a villa? I need help, I want to book it but am very worried.
Regards
Phil

Hi Phil
Have you searched on this site to see if they have anything with 8 bedrooms, then you could rest assured that you will be getting what you pay for. Does he own the home himself?

Phil
Where did you find the website or the villas ? Renting a home from this site is very safe because they are all verfied as existing and belonging to the advertiser. If you have doubts I would advise you look at homes on either www.orlandovillas.com www.villasflorida.com or www.onlinefloridavillas.com there are many beautiful homes to choose from and you can have direct contact with the owner who can answer any concerns or questions you may have.

I think he owns the property as I have had to contact him direct.
Lesley, on the websites you gave me there are propertys that he owns but not the one I wanted. Does this mean he is genuine?

Gosh, that was quick Phil,it takes me ages to go though them all looking for an owners name, where did you find the 8 bedroom advertised,pm me the details as you are not allowed to advertise urls on here. The only homes verified are ones advertised on here.
Cheers,Lesley
Please could you also PM me the 8 bed villa. I couldn't find it.
When I hover my mouse over the topic in the index you can clearly see the website address. This only seems to work when I've bought up the active topics though.

It doesn't when you return to the forum Jacqui or refresh the Active Topics.
Blott,
Just got back on again and you're right. This time it says website edited. Last time it actually gave the name. I was somewhat surprised I must say. Must have been a technical hitch.;)

I know Mike Mannings, I know he has several villas already, and has done for some time, and I can see no reason why he would try and rent you out a villa that does not exist!
You would be better raising your concerns direct with him, I (and other owners)often have prospective guests who ask lots of questions, particularly if they have not rented direct from owners before.

He owns a villa on the estate where I have mine, so he certainly does exist.
