Jeff

I've pm'd Roger about it as he deals with the car hire bookings and will know where we are up to with things. I know he is around this evening.

I assume this is the booking you made at 4am this morning for pickup today in Kissimmee. What we normally say in these kind of situations is to pay Dollar the going rate for the car hire and let us know the booking nbumber and we will fax the car hire voucher to them and they will honour the voucher and not charge their on the day rate.

I'm sure Roger will get back to you shortly but in the meantime I suggest you do the above to save losing a days car hire.

Ideally we could do with a bit more notice for car hire bookings as we are not always able to turn a voucher round in less than a day.

We have never had a problem before with someone not being able to collect a vehicle even if they do leave it until the last minute before collecting the car. Bear in mind this is a very last minute booking (several hours before the car is required) for a specialist vehicle from a remote location, so Dollar may not have had time to get the vehicle to the location by the time you arrived to collect the vehicle.

As you will appreciate there is a fair amount of administration that goes along with a car hire booking - we have to check availability, take payment, then produce and issue the voucher.

We have never had a case where Dollar have refused to rent a car to someone that has not yet received their voucher, even if they have booked the car only a few hours before the car is required. Dollar should simply allow the customer to take the car, and provided the voucher is with Dollar (we will fax it to them) by the time the car is returned then they should not be charged.

In the unlikely event that the voucher can not be with Dollar by the time the car is returned, then the customer would have to pay Dollar for the car hire and it will be refunded back to the customers credit card once they arrive home.

It's surprising how many people do leave booking a car until the last minute like this - sometimes it is bad planning, and sometimes there are other reasons (like an unscheduled extended stay in Florida). Probably 5 or 6 per week - it causes us a lot of work but we have not let anyone down yet, and I'm sure we wont let you down either. Due to the nature of the vehicle and the pick up location and the fact it goes into the Easter school holidays, it may take Dollar slightly longer to confirm the vehicle.

thats correct i did a booking in the same way last month everything worked fine.

but the guy in dollar would not let us take a car just with a ref number from yourselves and we never thought to pay again and claim it back..

looks like a blip nobodys fault just one of those things..
