Well, you can get crummy from about $25 a room per night upwards to the sky's the limit! Prices are probably likely to be a bit higher as it's Christmas time...

Personally, I've always been hankering after a reason to stay at the Orlando Airport Hyatt which overlooks the concourse but it's quite pricy! If you want a treat, what about the Wonderland Inn http://www.wonderlandinn.com - I've always tried to find an excuse to stay there too!

Hi Joolz

We stayed at the Doubletree Guest Suites on the 192, I am not sure how much it will cost, but it was a 2 story town house with 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed. Not "executive" but not bad either.

Thank you both
Ive looked up the wonderland inn it looks fab- have you seen it in person blott or had personal recommendations? Sometimes websites make their places look fab and when you get there they are not quite so appealing - so i would really like any first hand comments on it- has anyone else stayed there?

Joolz, why do you not look for another villa that has your whole holiday period available. It seems a shame to have to muck about with accommodation for one night. Put a request into the OV sites here and I'm sure there will be owners who have your whole period available. [msnsmile]

Thanks Andy - I have done so on 3 or 4 websites and had in excess of 350 emails and still counting [msnscared]
So Have filtered lots out and have found this one to be extremely competitive price (due to cancelleation) and good location etc
It does seem a shame .... I agree
I suppose villas and condos may rent out for one night ??? but then I guess theres the cleaning cost etc... so that would put it up??
I may have to resort to looking again.

To go back to renting homes, there aren't very many that will rent just for one night and it would probably be quite expensive to just stay one night. It seems a shame to have to find somewhere for one night at Christmas time with all the upheaval, etc it will cause.

Joolz, I stayed at the Crowne Plaza at the airport, the Crowne Plaza Universal and the Crowne Plaza on I drive last week whilst doing my villa inspections and found them all to be good accommodation, reasonable (less than $99 - but then thats not christmas) and they all had pools etc, infact the one on I drive was a resort, great for kids, and very new. Remember, prices in the US are per room not per person, and you can easily get 4 in a room if necessary. The only thing the priice will not include is state taxes.

Thanks florida Lover... I like the sound of the one on IDriveTheir own website is down at the mo- I think the prices look good- was it clean and smelt nice??? ( cant cope with smelly rooms!!!! [msntongue]
It is my daughters birthday on Xmas day - so dont want next day to be an anticlimax after villa. I cant have them both in the same bed so may end up having 2 rooms I think!!!

All of Wonderlands are double beds I think - just checking that out....
Cant get any direct websites on Double trees??? only agents.. theyll get back on Monday.
Villa owner has offered to get us 1 nights stay in another villa???????? at his cost!!!

With the added cost of two hotel rooms wouldnt that make another villa available to you within your budget ? There is considerable upheaval to pack your things and leave the home tidy which would then need doing again the next day.I cant imagine why this home owner is giving a special offer on highly saleable peak dates and also offering to pay for another home for 1 night, and I dont know of any home owners that could take a one night booking for Dec 26th that in doing so would prevent them taking a two week booking for xmas.

In my opinion you should be very careful. I can't imagine why a genuine villa owner would offer to pay for you to stay in another villa for 1 night but I would be very suspicious if this is the case.
If something looks too good to be true it usually is.

Hi Joolz,
Claire,
The one we have often used for a single/two night stay is Hampton Suites, Lake Buenavista at the 'bottom' end of I Drive. The last time I checked you can get a suite with 2 queens, living room and kitchen area for $100.99 per night for Dec 26th.
Let me know if you want me to send[msnsmile2] web-site info.

Thanks everyone for your valuable comments - i have taken a look at the available villas on my short list again.... It is taking ages to find the right one... how long do villa owners spend in admin in repliying to requests and advertising their villas?? It must be a vast amount of time????

A lot of owners spend at least 2-4 hours per day to do it. I am lucky to be a stay at home Mom so I can spread that out through out the day. Some owners that work- it must seem like a second job!
