Hi - we are going to the Gulf Coast in October - done a search and the cost of flights with BA to Tampa is considerably dearer than last year. I am never sure whether it is best to book straight away or wait until nearer the time in the hope of getting a bargain? There are only 2 of us and we had a great flight with BA last year and loved Tampa airport. Wondered if it would be cheaper to go to Miami but then the[msncool] drive to the Gulf Coast is longer.

Anyone got any ideas?[msnsmile2][msncool]

Did you try www.travelocity.co.uk
You can do a search by month and if you look under BA it will give you the dates the cheaper flights are available on.
Can use this as basis for looking for dates on other sites then as well if travelocity are not suitable.
I got fantastic value for June though I booked at New Year.

Just fiddling around with it and discovered if you put in from Dublin ( Dub) to Tampa the prices seem to be a lot less. I suppose you can do this and not use the first and last leg of the journey as they are silly and fly into heathrow and out of Gatwick anyway.
Hoep this helps

Beware doing this, airlines can cancel your entire itinerary if you don't turn up for one of the flights.

My advice would be to book now. Tampa, Orlando and Miami are busy all year round and also you have half term in Oct so a lot a families travelling.

I have done a search and Tampa and Orlando with BA are the same price £488+tax per person in Oct, Miami is £20 per person cheaper travelling on1st Oct for 14 nights, and its a long drive.

You could search for cheaper, but if you like BA and Tampa and you want to fly direct personally I would go for it!

Happy Flying!

Thanks for that. We are off to Rotonda West Kevin. I too came up with the same price so guess I will go with BA again to Tampa. Don't fancy doing any fiddling about - and they were very good with special needs and the wheelchair facility. If there is not much difference in price it's not worth flying to Miami and driving up
