I have found Winter Gardens in a guide book and details of a boat trip around expensive houses in the area (talking millions now)!!

The town and shops sound great and traditional Floridian. Anything like Celebration? That town is so beautiful.

A recommendation for a restaurant for pretty plain eaters in Winter Gardens aswell please and has anybody been on the boat trip?

Thanks.

It is called Winter Park and it is a good, relaxing day out; a nice change after all the coomercialism. We went a few years ago and enjoyed ourselves. But there is more to Winter Park than a few shops and the boat trip. I suggest that you get a brochure and plan to be there by 9:30am. Start with a stroll among the upmarket shops and boutiques along Park Avenue and then see the Central Park alongside. There are the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens, Morse Museum of American Art with its fine collection of Tiffany Glass, The scenic boat tour etc. If you fancy a bit of activity, there are local walking and bicycle tours too. All in all, a good day out for the whole family.

if you are going on the boat trip take something to cover your legs or apply plenty of sun block as the boat has no cover, we went on the trip last year early in our hols and all three of came off with bright red patches on our thighs which looked quite ridiculous.

Thank you very much for that piece of advice, as I am very fair skinned. I will make sure that I cover up well.

Despite the sunburn was the boat trip enjoyable?

The boat trip was extremely enjoyable with wonderful photo and camcorder opportunities. You might want to take a pair of Binoculars as well.
