Coming over to Florida again, staying in Lake Davenport villa, first visit since 2011. Looking at flights, last time we flew by Virgin in premier seats (very good) trouble is my wife says she wants to travel the same style, wondered what dreamliner by Thomsons are like, and one other point not finalised dates yet but what is the weather like in November, we could travel Sept/Oct/Nov. Thanks Barry

I've had a peek on board a Thomsons Dreamliner, they fly to Mexico from Glasgow, the plane looks good and is very quiet when it taxi's and takes off but there didn't seem to be any "special" seats.
The weather last November was brilliant, anywhere from 25 to low 30's for the full two weeks, with hardly and humidity and, most importantly, the only "Florida shower" we had was two days before we left and even then that was after 10 at night! Of course, we may just have gotten lucky :)

We flew on one of thomson's dreamliner's from birmingham last year. Very nice, but note, as we hadn't pre-booked seats, we were chuffed that we got a window seat, only to find that row 37 does not have any windows.

We flew Heathrow to Miami. Nice plane, but we were very lucky and got bulk head seats - so had lots of room. The first plane I've been on that had a disabled access toilet large enough for two people to get into (its up in first class). Loved the windows, great being able just to dim them against the sun, a bit like putting sun glasses on.
We usually fly Gatwick/ Orlando and the dream liner is not on that route.

Is 'up in first class' disabled accessible? I am fortunate to be asking purely out of interest, not through necessity.

We flew the Virgin Dreamliner when it was on the Boston route and loved the plane. We were flying Pe and had the "Wonderwall" snack access so anytime during the flight you were free to help yourself to snacks. As far as timewise, October is one of our favourite times to go (if you can avoid the half term dates its not much more expensive than November. Its alwas been dry when we have gone then and as the clocks don't go back till the first week in November it is still lighter later into the evenings. At the end of the year you can find that as soon as the sun goes down it can feel quite a bit cooler so may want to pack a fleece. There's no telling on that score, we've seen the New Year in at Celebration before now and still had just short sleeved t shirts at midnight another year we have been searching for hats and gloves as it was so cold.

Of course you might be able to persuade your wife to travel differently if you go at the end of November and save the money for the black Friday sales , the day after Thanksgiving:)

Have a look at at Thomas Cook Airlines. We flew PE this May to New York and the service was excellent. The food was by James Martin and was the best airline food we have had. We felt it was as good as Virgin PE and a bit cheaper, so much so that we have booked then for Olando next May although still like Virgin and flying with them in November.

I have flown PE with Thomas Cook airlines for the last 4 trips into Miami. Very comfortable and excellent service.

If I remember (only a week ago!), it was between PE and first class, with Virgin, but just ask the flight attendants. I had plenty of room to get in with my adult daughter. Not the usual squash with the door half open that we have on a jumbo.

My sister in law has just returned from a fortnite in florida and flew both ways on a TUI Dreamliner.

She wasn't very impressed and failed to see what the fuss/hype was all about.

Flew on the Thomson Dreamliner in May and it was fine. However it can work out more expensive than Virgin, depending on when you book.

Hi
Flew into Orlando for some 'villa maintenance' on Norwegian's Dreamliner, £413 return fare, but must admit I had no suitcase, just my allocated 10kg of carry on luggage, and no food on board (saved £25 each way), just had lunch in Gatwick and brought a meal deal out of WH Smiths for my half way meal !
There was talk in the press that Norwegian would like to get the flights down to £50 each way to the states, but that would be from Dublin, it's said that the USA government are dragging there heels to OK it.

All else being equal, I find the Dreamliner is a very nice, modern and quiet aircraft but for me on board service and inflight facilities will always be the most important factors. I'll take a good crew and IFE on any old aircraft over a shiny new plane with cramped conditions and lousy service every time.

Thoughts from up front and I don't mean First Class.

I know that one of the owners on the forum is a Captain on the Dreamliner but not with Thomson.

As far as he is concerned it's the best plane he has flown and I believe he is certified on a number of different type of aircraft.

Regards Dave

We were on The Airbus 380 -800 ( Dreamliner ) of British Airways , from Heathrow to Vancouver & Return

Flight out we were Lower Deck Economy .. window seats ..... plenty of room & overhead locker space .

Return Upper Deck Cramped Center Seats ...... No Leg Room .... Very little Locker Space.

Not a good flight.

I would have been Very Disappointed If We had Paid EXTRA for seats on the Upper Deck.

Think there is some confusion here, the A380 is a very large double deck plane but is not the Dreamliner. The Dreamliner is the Boeing 787 and is single deck so yes you would be very disappointed if you paid to sit upstairs as you'd be on the wing!

We travelled on one of these to South Africa - upstairs going out, 2 seats by window lots of space plus little cubby hole by window. Downstairs coming back 3 seats by window very little space.

Not a good flight.

Into your hired car ..... out to entrance of airport ...... turn right ..... go past Gas ( petrol ) station

& turn LEFT onto Hwy 417 there is a toll ..,. so have some loose change ..... then you will

stay on & By pass the MCO entrance and then through the usual tool booths .

I flew back on the Dreamliner from Sanford with Thompsons yesterday and just be aware that carry on you are only allowed 5kg and they were weighing all bags and backpacks, they charge $27 for every kilo over! I presumed it was a 10kg allowance same as every other airline! They certainly made a lot of extra money yesterday.

That has happened to us a couple of times over the years at Sanford.
I had a pair of jeans and a jumper in my bag to change into that tipped me over the 5KGs, so I put them on and was under. The weight on the plane was therefore the same!!

I just posted a video on our Youtube channel here to show the inside of Thomson Dreamliner, premium economy & food as we get asked a lot what it's like.
