Hi

We have always been to Florida in October but we are looking to go again probably the end of August beginning of September at some point in the future. What is the weather like generally during this time and also how busy is it likely to be in the parks and surrounding areas.

Many thanks

Flight prices drop last weekend in August so if you can wait til then its best, also the theme parks become quieter last week in August and even quieter first week in September. Its still pretty hot with the afternoon down pours.

Only been once in September, we were told we were crazy going at that time year, high chance of hurricanes, not necessarily in Orlando but in Florida in general bringing lots of rain and wind. I think it was hurricane Rita that affected the Keys whilst we were there. We had one day of rain and the rest of the fortnight was glorious, wouldn't hesitate to choose that time of year again if it fitted our plans.
Flights cheaper and Parks and the area in general much quieter.

My sister has been the last 2 weeks in August 3 times.

1st time was fine, dry and hardly a drop of rain ever, 2nd time a hurricane that downgraded to a tropical storm hit central florida and had them moved hotels by the tour operator and the 3rd time was fine but with the usual 4pm thunderstorm ever day.

My sister in law is going this august for the final 2 weeks.

All told, the US and Scottish schools are back at school then so it's a lot quieter than July and early August.

First time we went we went last 2 weeks in September and it was mostly fine except for the 4PM thunderstorm, although a hurricane did hit the panhandle in our last couple of days but all it meant for us was that it was very very windy for a day or 2.

We go every August and it is extremely hot and humid.

Crowd wise it gets better as the month goes on as the US children go back to school

Pretty much the same as others have said, leave till end of August and you should get a good deal on flights and the parks are empty,

Weather is fantastic August and September so go for it.

Enjoy,

Mark.

Hi Wendy, we've been in September loads of times and it's great, parks are much quieter as are restaurants, slightly more humid than October, especially the end of October when you normally go.

We always try to go in September when we can as it's our favorite time to visit.

I'm always wary when people ask me what the weather will be like at a particular time of year. Take this month, we have been in late January early February and had fabulous weather, this year it is freezing for Florida. It us do changeable.

September past, the weather was pretty poor.

Friends were there for a fortnight and, although warm, it was heavy clouds and rain pretty much every day.

We're pretty regular visitors in the Autumn and have found over several years that late September into early October weather is more reliable than earlier in the month although it is quite changeable all through that period. As a result we don't consider going over before about 20th September now.

The block out period for pass holders ends in mid August so that shows when the parks start to get quieter.

September is great. You can never rely on the weather but it is typically hot and sunny and with less rain than August. Not many people want to visit in September so we often visit our home ourselves. It is a good time to visit the parks with reasonable queues. Rental rates are typically mid season, and you can probably get away without needing pool heat.
