Hi,

There seems to be some chopping and changing going on with the aeroplane types on the MAN-MCO route with Virgin.

Does anyone know what plane they are using for the early flights this year please?

11:15 out and 18:30 return, Oct/Nov this year.

Manage my Booking on the Virgin site does not show plane type although i thought i'd seen it showing Boeing 747-400 earlier in the year.

Thanks

Hi,

I returned on Monday from Orlando to manchester, I'm sorry I'm not too sure on the name of the plane, but it was different than the plane virgin used three years ago. It sat 2 at one side 4 in the middle and two at the other side. I'm not sure if that helps. I can dig out all my paperwork to see if it lists the plane type anywhere.

Thanks very much. Good seat configuration for us travelling as there's 10 of us.

I always check if there is upper class available, this lets me know that it's a 747 as the airbus does not have upper class on the Manchester route

I think the morning flight is the Airbus, which is a 2-4-2 seating configuration.

The current schedule definitely shows a 744 on Gary's dates Hazel. Of course, that can change (and often does).

I may be wrong but I think Virgin used the A330 Airbus on the morning flights whilst the Boeing 747's were being refurbished and they will be reverting back to the 747's for all flights.

Indeed there is a reference on the Total Orlando facebook page to Virgin increasing capacity by 2,800 passengers per week by flying 747's on all its 11 flights from Manchester rather than the Airbus.

Hi Gary, have you looked at virgin-flyer.com ? In the Toolbox, Which Aircraft section, it lists the aircraft used on each route, and where different planes are used, it indicates the percentage of use for each plane. The site also gives details about the aircraft, including the entertainment systems in place. Our recent trip from Manchester was outbound on a Boeing 747, returning on an Airbus 300/340. The food was still as bad as ever, so you may wish to take sandwiches with you! Anyway, have a great holiday.
