View Full Version : Charter
Just had a quote from Charter for 4 adults and a 7 seater car hire for £3236
For 2 weeks mid August 2014
Now it's been a while and a little out of the loop does the price look high or OK
You don't say how long the rental is for but even if only two weeks and the flights are direct I would say that's quite good.
2 weeks car hire for a 7 seater on this site is £404 including 2 drivers and all insurances etc. that would leave £708 each for flights, not sure you could get them cheaper in August.

I would need more information before judging whether its a good deal or not but it doesn't look OTT for August. Who is the carrier/route and is that all in?

Looks cheap as chips to me mind.
With Virgin and direct to Orlando
Guess though the car will be the std insurance so may need to beef it up possibly

All of us have had to move our price benchmarks over the past couple of years to a point where even fares over £1k are seen as affordable these days. On that basis a fare of just over £700 has actually become a bargain!
On that basis, your quote does seem a very good deal for August although it's still a lot of money and there may be a little more to pay on the car. Regrettably, I suspect you're unlikey to find much better.

It wasn't that many years ago that the fare for both the wife and I was equal to one of us now. I considered Florida and the USA in general an affordable holiday, not anymore. :(
Take it from me that's a great deal, we have just paid £749 per flight with Thomson direct flights in early July and Virgin want over £1k per person.
Book it before its to late.
Regards, Mark.
Well I plunged and booked it
So only 59 Roast Dinners till the off
Now to start the villa hunt!!!
Is it wrong to already feel a little excited?
Definitely not!!! And you're starting your search at the right time as there are already a lot of enquiries coming through for summer next year! I suggest you put an enquiry into the sites listed above detailing your dates and if you have anything in particular on your wish list - then all you have to do is choose!!!

It's never too soon to get excited for a trip to Florida. :)

Yes last time I did it we had a short list of 30!!!!
You have come to the right site for choosing a villa so as Dawn said put your enquiry in and enjoy the great selection of villas.
Regards,
Mark.
The 59TH roast dinner will soon come round.
Have fun looking at all the great villas, once you submit your enquiry.
Go for it is my opinion. You won't get direct flights in August for that price for long. If it's under £850 in school holiday time I think it's a good deal.

Indeed. We've been dithering over whether to go this summer or not. Having just finally decided to go, we're looking at just flights for 5 of us coming out at over 6k for the dates we want.

This is getting beyond a joke! Is it me or have we reached the point where we see anything below £1,000 for a direct flight in school holidays as a good price?
Methinks the airlines got over the "problem" of price-fixing by forming "alliances" (read cartels).....
The number of transatlantic carriers seems to go down weekly :(

Have we caught you still looking at fares after you've booked Dave? As Sergeant Wilson would say "is that wise sir"?

As a comparison, we've paid £2596.00 for 4 of us to fly with Thomsons direct from Newcastle to Sanford on 14th October.
We booked this when the flights first went on sale on 1st May 2012 and the prices now for the same flights are £3700 once you add your £70 per suitcase on.
You know you won't - I never can!!!
Ha ha!
I thought I was the only one to do this!
