BT SmartTalk app

Has anyone used the BT SmartTalk app while on holiday in Florida? I've installed it on my iPhone, its linked to your BT home phone account and any calls you make through the app,which uses wi-fi or 3G, are charged as if you were calling from your home landline phone. Not much use to me while in the UK as I have plenty of minutes on my tariff but would be handy when I go to Florida in June. So according to the BT info, while abroad you would connect to wi-fi, make a call through the app and even though I would be making a long distance call it would be charged to my BT account as a UK to UK call, which if it was made on a weekend would be free as I have Unlimited Weekend package on my home phone!!

We use the viber app. as long as you can connect to wifi all calls and texts made through the app are free. There are other apps out there as well such as whats app.

Anyone know of one for Virgin media mobiles and landlines?

Phone calls to UK and many other countries from our villa phone are free anyway but we use whats app for texts and photos home and of course skype calls are also free via wifi.
