Hi All,
I'll be visiting FL in August 2013 with family. My 19 year old nephew is really into his fishing, but he's only done the usual lake/river stuff up to now. I would like to take him and his stepdad out to try sea fishing.
Can anyone recommend a company to do a day or half day charter, that's easily accessible from Davenport?

The Flying fish fleet is out of Marina Jacks in Sarasota.
Its about a 2 hour drive from Orlando.
Very good prices, Kid friendly, prize for the biggest catch of the day.
They provide everything and bait your hooks.
Will also fillet what you catch.

There is plenty of choice on 'the other side'(Atlantic) as well. Small charters are quite expensive but there are big 'party' boats with 50 or so rods.

Hi, The flying fish is a big boat, Bathrooms and drinks as well and nice and steady on the water.
Private charters start at over $500 to$1000 if you go deep sea offshore, again out of Marina jacks. Theses boats are around 30 feet.
Lots of private captains with boats around 18 to 20 ft will fish the bay and just offshore around $300.
our coast the gulf is a tends to be calmer than the east coast Atlantic.

If you go to Clear Water and head to the harbour about 1 hour drive from Davenport and you will have plenty of private charters that do a morning and afternoon 4 hour trip upto 6 people and the cost is about 500 USD we have done this three times now and the fishing is superb. Just google clear water sport fishing.

Have a look at some of the deals on Groupon, my husband and friends had a great deal for a half day charter from Cape Canaveral last year and have seen it advertised for this year too.
