View Full Version : Hi all your help please.......
Hi all, could do with your help, we are a family of 4 and have visited Florida 7 times now and love it. We are just about to plan our 2013 visit but the package holidays have shot up in price! Can you guy's please help with individual web sites that have cheaper flights and car hire etc??
Many thanks
Have a look at the links at the top of the page, the Orlando Villas/Orlando Villa Rentals links have some wonderful villas to rent, the Florida Car Hire is excellent value and also the Flights to Florida can offer you a range of flights at competitive prices.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Wendy, just looking now.....:)

You cannot beat renting your car from this site, villas are excellent to. Unfortunately I always strike out with the Flights to Florida, this year they would only quote for flights with cars supplied by them and last year prices far higher than those offered on their page.

When you book a package, you are paying for the "middlemens'" commission, so most people are finding it is now so easy to book your own elements individually that they are going that way. I know Ii may be biased but especially with accommodation it makes much more sense for the person who knows your family to choose what suits them regarding location and amenities rather than a random stranger allocating either what they THINK you want or worse still what gives them the best commission but may not be best for you. with a flight you are only on the plane for a few hours each way so if there are savings to be made I'd rather econimise on that and get better accommodation which you are much more likely to spend more time ini and can make or break your holiday.
Unfortunately if you have to go during school holidays , thanks to the policies of fining children taken out of school etc. the airlines have notched up the prices even more. Travel agents are often good at getting best deals on flight prices (and Charter are particularly good),
According to Martin Lewis Money Saving Expert and the travel guru they wheel out every time there is a crisis Simon Calder the cheapest time to book a scheduled flight is as soon as they become available - so by thinking ahead you are in a great position. If you have flown packages before it may surprise you how inexpensive the scheduled airlines can be - don't forget to count in all the extras that charter flights charge, food, drink, baggage and you may get a shock. You are in the best position to trawl all the price comparison sites and get the best deal as you are thinking far enough in advance. Whether you choose a scheduled flight or a charter you can still save. I had guests who booked a package 2 years before they booked independently with me. They went on the same Thomson flight but booked the villa and the car hire themselves and on a party of 6 saved £800 compared to the previous visit. Car hire in particular may surprise you as the so called FREE car hire (just pay the insurance at the airport) deals are notorious for being more than you would buying direct with all costs included.
Just a note to say that villa owners do not charge you for booking a larger home - what the tour operators call under occupancy - so if you have children of different sexes that need their own room you are not penalised. You should be aware they do not pass this on to the villa owners - in fact they offer a lower rate as there are less people. . Enjoy choosing and have a great time in Florida.
Hi try looking at some charter airlines all of these offer great deals.

If that's what they claim then they're wrong. There are no hard rules on when the best fares will be available - it's impossible to predict where they will go with any level of certainty.
Generally speaking, the best fares come up in the regular sales the airlines have through the year but that's not a foolproof method either.
