Well after visiting Orlando for the last 10 years with the kids and doing all the theme parks,it seems this year we are on our own . So this year we would like to incorporate Las Vegas and Orlando Anyone got any info on internal flights or the best way to go about this

Lots of airlines do internal flights, it is best to check as many as possible. Although probably best go to fly direct to vegas, then onto orlando and them home from Orlando. Get an on strip hotel. Go when there are no big conventions in vegas and rooms will be cheaper. Big suites can be had for a steal at the right times.

Hi Maisie, we often take a side trip to other parts of the US. As we collect BA airmiles we arrange it all through them and as they now have an alliance with America Airlines they would sort out an internal flight for you. As Martin suggests, fly in to Las Vegas - you could even organise a hotel through BA if you want life made easy, although it may be cheaper to arrange it yourself, and then back to the UK from Orlando. The jet lag could be worse returning from Las Vegas so it would be best to fly to the UK from Orlando. One thing you need to remember is that internal flights allow you less luggage weight wise so you may face an extra charge.

I don't think there are any direct flights from Orlando to Vegas, I have been looking for next year for my 60th. You can fly direct from Tampa I believe.

Keep an eye on the luggage allowance, we took an internal flight from New York to Fort Myers, I can't remember the details, just that the allowance was much less, but much better for hand luggage.

Southwest airlines have one or two direct flights to Vegas from Orlando. We have friends who have flown this route from Orlando.

You will have a great time in Vegas and do try to fit in a visit to the Grand Canyon. We had considered going again but incorporated into an Orlando trip but last time we checked it out there was not much choice direct and did not really fancy changing enroute. Would definately consider flying to Vegas before going onto Orlando, but have you considered a couple of nights in New York then 3 or 4 nights in Vegas before finishing off in Florida to relax, unwind and recover?

Can recommend the Luxor in Vegas but in the side towers - not in the main building.

Have a great time!

Southwest airlines have one or two direct flights to Vegas from Orlando. We have friends who have flown this route from Orlando.

They've flown that route for a long time and by today's airline standards have a decent baggage allowance.

We use Delta as we have loyalty points with them and for 25,000 points you can fly a return flight anywhere in the US. Not sure about hotel prices as we use our DRI timeshare points and usually stay at Polo Towers right on the strip. Can definately recommend the flight to the Grand Canyon, it was terrific.

We've flown to Vegas with Southwest and, as mentioned, they are one of the few that fly direct from Orlando, there are two flights daily. We're touring Death Valley/Mojave Desert in May and have just booked one way flights with Southwest to Vegas for $179. Have a look at Southwest Vacations too and see what hotel packages they offer with flights/hotel in Vegas, they often have some great accommodation/flight details. We booked the flight and accommodation and the Bellagio and it was a considerable saving on booking the two separately.

As Katy's Grandad says, they have one of the best luggage allowances and two checked bags are included with each ticket.

Hi
We travelled from Dublin to new york and then onto los angelos spent 2 nights there and onto Las vegas for 4 nights and then onto orlando for 10 nights and flew home to Dublin . It was barrys 40th so it was a special holiday.
Do stay on the strip and you can get greta mid week deals so shop around.

Good luck and have fun

Virtually every US airline will get you there with a connection(s) but I'm pretty sure neither of those offer direct flights.

Weekends are usually cheaper, Excalibur can be had for very low rates, seen rooms as low as $30 - $40, bargain.

My experience of Las Vegas hotels has been the opposite of that with weekends often costing double mid-week rates. I just checked Excalibur for the next few months and that's certainly still the case for those.

I would have thought Vegas has a tourist information where you can find all the convention dates. We flew from Orlando to Vegas a couple of years ago and then back to Orlando, flew from Orlando International with United but we booked it as a "package" flight from the Uk and it worked out well. Booked a day trip to the Canyon before we went through Viators and did the sky bridge, well worth it.
We stayed at the Luxor and although good if I went again would stay at a more central location on the strip say the Wynn or Ceasars Palace saves on the feet. Look for some bargains as I am sure you will find some. Well worth the trip.

We flew Manchester to Vegas, enjoyed our time there at theSignature at the MGM - the only NON smoking hotel- we had a fabulous room- more like a suite- with everything you could want in it! Luxurious to say the least.
then flew onto Orlando with United, and then Orlando to Manchester via Washington going home. United / BMI that would have been about 3 or 4 years ago.
