Personal choice, but I would not bother.
If you've booked using a credit card, NOT a debit card, the consumer credit act provides you with some degree of insurance. It won't cover any and all costs to buy replacement flights but it will provide for a refund if the airline fails to deliver on their contract with you to fly you from start to destination and back again.
Thanks for your replies, i paid the deposit with mastercard and the balance on my visa debit card, typical of me!
I would think that Virgin are pretty secure - or at least I think so.

I booked a couple of days ago with Virgin but decided to take the insurance as it was only about £3... so thought better to be safe than sorry! I don't normally do these sort of things but with the state of everything, I felt more secure.
£3 extra is not bad i was quoted alot more. If virgin are only charging that amount then i might give them a ring. :)

Well, if you are taking something expensive with you than take the Orlando insurance services they are pretty good with it. But if you are just taking a trip for enjoyment than don’t need to bother to buy any insurance plan. Think about what could worse happened, there is only 1/100th probability for getting hurt in this trip..
