Hi,

It can be quite cold, but one year we were there it was lovely and warm, so a bit unpredictable really.

As Dawn said, it can be cold. Last year it was really cold in December but warmed up by January. In 2008 it was absolutely beautiful throughout Dec and early January. I aways take clothes which can layer up because it can get chilly in the evening anytime in winter so if you are planning a marathon theme park day, you are likely to need extra clothing once the sun goes down.
What I will say is that even with the colder days the sky is usually blue and feels much cheerier than the cold grey days we get here.
It is quite possible that it will be really lovely throughout your stay but be prepared for some cold conditions at some point.

We have had 80's on New Years Eve and also had a lot less. For me, jeans and tee shirt and carry a sweat shirt or top around.

Remember that there are many fewer hours of daylight in December so, while it can be pleasant in the daytime sun, it gets chilly when it goes dark and takes a while to warm up in the mornings.

Taking layers of clothing is excellent advice. We have been in t-shirt and shorts over Christmas, and have also needed gloves and hats, so it is not possible to predict accurately.

Therefore, taking a warm jacket and a couple of sweaters and jeans or trousers is sensible - if you don't need them you haven't lost anything, but if it gets a bit chilly, (and as Katy's Grandad so rightly says, it can get chilly at night), then you have everything you need.

I know that, even if it is chilly, we have usually experienced lovely cloudless, blue and sunny skies, so that makes up for any drop in temperature. Having left a grey, cold and miserable UK in December and having got up the first morning in Florida to see the sun beaming down, it makes you feel oh so good!

Of course, not having high humidity and intense heat makes it much, much easier to whizz round the parks. We often manage to do each of the four parks in one day, ending up back at Epcot for the fireworks. Now, in August, this would be extremely draining because of the heat. So the cooler weather certainly has its advantages.

One little tip is that if you are watching the wonderful Mickey's Fantasmic laser and firework show at Hollywood Studios, the seats are metal, and boy can they be chilly to sit on! So make sure you aren't in shorts for the evening show.

Hi there it is ten years since we spent Christmas in Orlando! We thought the weather was great it was in the seventies and we wore t-shirts and shorts! On the weather channel it said Florida was experiencing a cold snap and floridians were equipping themselves for it! It showed people at bus stops with duvets over them and yes we were in t-shirts and shorts! We had a good giggle at this! But hey! We are Scottish! fifty is like an Indian summer to us!!!!

We have been at the New year every year ( expcept last year ) for 8 years and have only ever had one cold year! Yes, you need a jacket / jumper for the evenings but the days are usually in the 70's and lovely clear skies. The Parks empty out after 2nd Jan and we just whizz round - we even do the water parks ( which our Floridian friends think we are nuts for ) but hey, these temps are like a great summer day for us so why not :-)
Missed it so much last year we have booked to go again this New Year.

Last year was the first time in 7 years we have not been in Florida for Christmas and NewYear. We only experienced one very cold spell Christmas and New Year in the 7 years.
There may have been the couple of odd days of cold weather. On the whole the weather stayed in the 70s can be colder early morning and in the evening.
A great time to visit, we will be there at December/January this year.

We spent Christmas and New Year 2009/2010 and it was lovely until 2nd January when it went below freezing and stayed that way for about 10 days. We have vowed never to go back at that time - if I was going to be cold then it would be more comfortable at home with all our warm clothes. It was also cold early December last year, but not as bad.

Weather at Christmas time can vary - it can go from quite warm to chilly, especially after dark. Lightweight jackets and layers are a good idea :) Have a brill time - Christmas is magic at Disney!

We were out there for my daughters wedding last Christmas, mornings and evenings were cold but some days it got very warm. It was the first time we had ever been there for the Christmas period and seeing all the parks with their Christmas decorations was fantastic, however it was the busiest time we had ever been and I doubt we would go back there at that time of year again. Enjoy your holiday, it was certainly an experience I'll always remember!!

We've done it 3 or 4 times now and the weather has been really variable. We certainly have not had two weeks of warm weather. Mixed, is probably the word. We've had really warm days, followed by some cold days. Generally the heat is concentrated between about 10 or 11 am through to about 4pm. Outside of those times, it hasn't been great.

Having said that, it's still shorts and T shirts, with an occasional jumper day needed. If you're doing the parks, it's much better than the blistering heat of August (just don't make the mistake of getting soaked late in the day on a water ride, because you won't dry out.
