This water park doesn't seem to mentioned as much as the other two parks (typhoon lagoon and blizzard beach). Is there a reason for this or is it due to close down or something?

We tried to visit River Country when we were out there at Easter and were told by Disney staff members that it was closed indefinitely due to lack of visitors.

That's a shame as I recall some very happy days spent there when I was a teenager!

I agree, we went there about four years ago and thought it was great, we had a lovely time.

We've been to Florida 6 times, and out of all our visits we have only been to River Country once. It was good, but not much to do, definitely not enough to justify using one of your options on the disney passes anyway, at least not for me.

I heard that River Country was not even in the top 20 US water parks, and they are planning to replce it with something new. No idea what!

Disney have said that River Country won't be opening this year but will next year if there is enough demand - how they gauge that I'm not sure - so you better get a petition going if you want its return.
