I would recommend hiring a car before you travel using a specialist travel agent. This options includes ALL local taxes so you have nothing extra to pay on arrival - just turn up and drive away!
The fly-drive car hire prices seem very good until you arrive very tired at the car hire desk at Orlando airport and get stung for all the local taxes. This can cost you almost as much again.
