Just returned from a visit to Winter Garden Village and can highly recommend the shopping area. Lots of the usual shops Marshalls, Best Buys, Lowes, Baths Beds and Beyond. great Target but also a huge Home Goods which being a villa owner I found great bargains in bedding and household bits.
Take the Florida Turnpike go through two toll's and as soon as you go through the second toll take the exit and at the end of the slip road take a left which will take you back under the turnpike and the shopping area is there on the right.
Lots of places to eat also.
Certainly worth a trip on a rainy day like today, but hopefully sun tomorrow.

Another route is up the 429, one of the quietest roads I've driven on from the 192 near the Target at Rolling Oaks.

Another really nice route - especially for owners on HW27 - is to take Avalon Road (left off 192 just after the first Publix). This is really quiet, with pretty scenery most of the way - and no tolls to pay. Takes us no longer to get to Winter Garden Village than driving further down the 192 to get onto the 429.

Often go up there after I have dropped DH off at OCN! Love the Barnes and Noble, can spend hours in there[msnsmile].

We go up there a lot as it has a good selection of shops and places to eat. We are like you Fiona and can spend ages in Barnes & Noble! The area around Barnes & Noble is really nice to have a walk as it has a nice "town" feel to it with smaller shops in contrast to the other side of the mall where the larger stores are located.

We like that area a lot. There are often bargains in the shops.
