There will be a special parade on Monday at MK for the Chilean miners. They will be the grand marshalls for the day. Disney's bosses have paid for them and their families to 7 days trip to Florida.

Whilst it is lovely of them to do this for the miners Lesley, when they announced it over Christmas my daughter and I both said the same thing, that it would be good if they also extend the same hospitality to the families of the 29 or so New Zealand miners for whom the outcome was not so good, when they are ready.
Do you know if it will be the afternoon or evening parade please?

I'm hoping (sure) it will be televised as it will be good to see the follow up having watched every day during their rescue.
According to the reports I've seen, Sandra, it will be a special parade on Monday afternoon.

There is no parade until 7.00pm today unless they have put an extra one in!

Managed to speak with a human being at Disney. There will be a special parade at 2.15pm today.

Talk about Disney not being organised. We were most surprised. We went to Customer Services to see where the Parade would start - the woman told us it was just an extra Parade the same as the 3.00pm Parade. Wrong!!! We got a good position on Main Street outside the cake shop and then lo and behold it was all happening near the castle. They eventually progressed down Main St but it was only the 7 dwarfs, a carriage with a few miners, and another bus type carriage with the rescuers on. All in all, a poor show from Disney as no one seemed to know what was going on!!!
Anyway, the miners and rescuers were enjoying everything so that is what counts after what they went through!

Appreciate you reporting to us Sandra about the parade - its nice to hear an on hand experience and glad that the miners enjoyed themselves - after all is Disney who wouldnt.... Love it....
