As I understand the rules if you are doing the UK/New York New York/Orlando with the same airline then it is the responsibility of that airline to get you, and your luggage, to your destination. Personally have not used US Airways but certainly with Continental that is the situation. Check that your New York connection does not involve a terminal change as that can add the minutes. 90 minutes frankly is the minimum time in my view to get off a plane, go through Immigration which can be very quick or very slow, collect luggage (ditto), through Customs, hand in luggage for 2nd flight, go through Security for 2nd flight (coats off, shoes off etc etc) and finding your gate.

Going to the loo is counted as a bonus!

If you are travelling the 2nd leg of your flight with the same airline, and I hope you are, then you should have no worries.

We have travelled with US with no problems at all- if by any chance you did miss your connection they would do everything possible to get you on the next available flight-at one and a half hours though particularly with the same carrier you'll be fine-tell your wife not to worry!!

We have flown with DELTA many times going in at JKF or ATLANTA and no problem as said before they help if late or will put you on next plane to MCO as it is in their interst looking after you.
Have a lovely vacation in FLORIDA.

Which airline are you flying with? There isn't a 'US Airlines' and I don't think 'US Airways' fly direct to New York from the UK.
