It's free to anyone and you can get in from France but you will already have paid for EPCOT entry.

It really comes to life at night with lots of free shows around the board walk. There are also plenty of places to eat from takeaways to top class so why not make it an evening visit.

You can get free entry via any of the hotels personally we always go via the Boardwalk Hotel. Just tell the guard on the gate that you are just looking around and he will direct you to the free car park.

Remember that the driver should take some form of photo ID with them. A UK driving licence or passport will do.

The free car park is on the opposite side of the road to the hotel. It can get quite full in the evenings when things liven up so it might be a good idea to go early. It is fun during the day time too and you can wander around the lake to view the other hotels there.

I understand that you can get to Boardwalk from Epcot (France).

Can you get into Epcot that way also, with a ticket of course, or is it just an exit ?

I am thinking of going to Boardwalk early evening and thne into epcot til closing.

We travelled there on the bus from Downtown Disney.

We just drove up after visiting the market place and told the gate guard we wanted to find somewhere to eat and have a look round and were directed to a car park.

Sounds silly but is there a dress code - by that i mean is it ok to go round the BW in 'park clothes'?

We keep saying were going to go on our visits and never seem to get round to it! Must make it a priority next [msnsmile]

It's absolutely fine to walk round BW in 'park clothes'

This sounds good.

Arrive Boardwalk early evening to have a walk round. Go for a meal then into Epcot for Illuminations.

Enter near France then exit near France back to the car which will be parked at a Boardwalk hotel??

Can this be done??

Or.......can illuminations be seen from the boardwalk???

Good Plan, however the thing that will be a problem is that you can only see the high fireworks which are only 30% of the show. You really need to go into the park to see this. There are plenty of good spots between England and France to choose from.

So parking up at one of the hotels, going for a walk around then dinner at the Boardwalk followed by a quick walk into Epcot for Illuminations is possible????

Do the hotels charge for parking?
Is there a certain time we should look to arrive for easy parking?
Is it a bun fight trying to leave after the fireworks in Epcot?
If we enter/leave Epcot near France was it? Then are there good spots to watch the fireworks from?

Thanks in advance

The hotels do not charge for parking however sometimes if they are busy eg Easter or Christmas they will only let you stay for a limited time.

Get there early in the evening

There are good spots in England in the rose garden but these are sometiimes used for special groups. I think the view from the bridge between the UK and France, which is where the exit is anyway is fine.

Its fine leaving after the fireworks but the queue for the boat is sometimes long. It is just as easy to walk though.

Hi Garry

If you go to Boardwalk at a busy time, Valet park. That way your not on a "timer". I know it costs a few dollars, but its good value.

When you go into Epcot via "back door" between UK & France turn right towards France. Slightly better views from there, Less trees, the bridge is popular especially if you get to the front of the railings.

Have a great time.[msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

Any hotel in particular to valet park?

We did it at The Boardwalk Hotel. Drive up to check in & you will see the valet stand.

When you go through to "Boardwalk" head right past ESPN. Thats the shortest walk to Epcot. If you go left you will walk round past shops, past Swan & Dolphin then back of Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, (check out swimming pool complex, Awesome. The pool has a sand bottom, whirlpool etc.) It's regularly voted Disneys best Resort Pool.

Also when you exit Epcot the crowds are not as big in this area, as most are resort guests returning to Resorts. Those in the stampede going to front of park, are heading for cars, coaches & monorail.

Brill, that is that evening sorted out!

Just need to organise dinner somewhere or just grab a slice of pizza and the pizza window.

Sorry for hijacking the original post.

We've eaten at the Flying Fish Cafe on the Boardwalk and it was good - the closest hotel to park at for this restaurant would be the Boardwalk Hotel.
